Dropped $600 on a hydraulic torque wrench cert class that taught me zilch
Signed up for a 3 day hydraulic torque wrench certification course in Wichita last spring because my shop kept losing bids to outfits that flashed certs. Paid $600 plus a night in a motel and two tanks of gas. The instructor spent day one reading slides straight off a PDF and the hands on portion was one guy practicing while 14 of us watched. I already knew more from 11 years in the trade than that class ever covered, and the cert never landed me a single extra job. Anybody else get burned on one of these cert mills, or did I just pick a bad one?

Wichita burned me too, but after 20 years I now see certs open doors skill alone can't.
