Pro tip: Laser levels for flange alignment saved me from a rework

Honestly, I was using a spirit level for flange alignment and it caused a bad fit. Tbh, a coworker told me to use a laser level instead. Ngl, it made the whole process smoother and faster. How do you guys handle flange alignment? Any other methods I should try?

Yeah, the mirror trick is solid for those tight spots. Honestly, a good laser level is a game changer, but don't sleep on a simple string line for super long runs either. Sometimes the old school methods pair up with the laser for a perfect check. Saves a ton of headache when you get that first bolt in and everything just sits flat.

But for weird angles or tight spaces, does the laser still work?

For tight spaces, I used a mirror to bounce the laser. Handled the angle just fine.

Totally, laser levels are clutch for flange work. I was fighting with a long pipe run last week, and my old spirit level was giving me grief. Switched to a laser and bam, everything lined up perfect first try. Even in cramped spots, a small mirror trick lets you hit those blind angles. Saved me hours of tweaking and cussing. Now I won't touch a flange without one.
