TIL cheap paper backing can wreck your corners after 8 months

Honestly, I switched to bargain book cloth for a batch of journals and the corners are all peeling way worse than the expensive stuff I used for 3 years. Anyone else notice the backing material matters more than the cover itself, or did I just get a bad roll?
