Hit 300 houseplants last weekend and I'm not sure it's something to brag about
I counted them all on Sunday after moving a shelf. 300 exactly. Most people in this sub seem proud of big numbers but I'm honestly a bit worried. I spent 3 hours just watering everything on Saturday. Has anyone else hit a number that made them stop and think they might have too much going on?

300 plants is basically a full time job now lol @drews55 said it best that the real flex is enjoying them not just counting them

Used to see those huge collections and think "goals" but ngl this kinda put it in perspective for me. 300 is a lot of plants to keep track of and three hours of watering sounds like a part time job at that point lol. I'm sitting around 75 right now and even that feels like a lot when I have to check everyone for pests or repot. Maybe the real flex isn't the number but being able to actually enjoy them all without it feeling like a chore.

Hit 200 once and it was more stress than joy. Sold off about 50 of the ones that didn't spark anything for me or needed constant babysitting. Now I'm at 150 and it's way more manageable. Pro tip - group plants by their water needs so you're not running around with the watering can checking everyone individually. Saves time and cuts way down on the "oh crap I forgot about that one in the back" moments.
