My neighbor's fiddle leaf fig finally put out a new leaf after 8 months

She's had this plant in her Seattle apartment for three years and it just sat there, not growing. Last month, she moved it about three feet away from a south facing window and started watering it with filtered water. Now there's a single, perfect leaf unfurling. What's the longest you've waited for a plant to show a sign of life?

My buddy had a snake plant he forgot about in a basement corner for like two years... gave it some light and it finally pushed out a new shoot last week.

Nice. My monstera did nothing for almost a year. Moved it from a north to an east window and it put out two leaves in a month. Light is everything.
