Hot take: buttering the back of every brick is worth the extra 2 minutes
Had a rough Monday in Allentown where 3 courses slid sideways because I skipped it, then a great Tuesday when I buttered everything and got 40 sq ft done clean. Is speed worth the risk or do you all butter the back too?

Man I felt that Monday pain through the screen. Nothing worse than laying a course and watching it creep sideways because you rushed the prep. Tbh the two minutes never feels like much when you're cruising, but it costs you way more when stuff starts sliding and you're redoing work you already did. Speed sounds nice until you're pulling bricks back up. Ngl I butter the back every time now, even when the clock is ticking. 40 sq ft clean beats 60 sq ft you gotta fix later.
