Booked the cheapest bunk in Rome and woke up to a chicken in my room

I always pick the lowest cost hostels to save cash on trips. In Rome, my bunk was by a broken window that let in the local livestock. A chicken got in and tried to eat my snacks from my bag at 6 AM. I saved money but had a wild start to my day, lol.

Just get a magazine and slide it under the little guy to take him outside.

Last year, my friend in Arizona had a gecko stuck in her bathtub. She used a piece of cardboard to scoop it up because it was sturdier than a magazine. I heard that moving slow keeps them calm so they don't run off. That trick seems to work for lots of small bugs and critters too. What's the weirdest place you've found a lizard in your house?

My cousin in Florida had an entire family of anoles living in her mailbox. She said the mail carrier would just leave the letters on top and she had to shake them out every afternoon. It went on for weeks until the babies hatched and they all moved on. Makes a shower lizard seem pretty normal.
