Hot take: The 'free walking tour' is a budget travel scam
My cousin argued that the 'pay what you want' model is fair, but I watched a guide in Prague shame a group for an hour because their tips averaged under 5 euros. It's a guilt trip with a city view. Anyone have a better way to get a decent historical overview without the pressure?

Ugh, that's awful. I had a similar thing happen in Berlin where the guide basically did a whole speech about his rent before we even started walking. Honestly, I've had way better luck just downloading a free audio tour app and going at my own pace. You get the history without the awkward group pressure at the end.
