This guy in a Bangkok hostel laundry room taught me the weirdest money saving trick with a sock

He saw me about to buy detergent and said, 'Just use a bit of shampoo, man, it's already paid for,' and then showed me how he washes his one pair of travel socks in the sink every night to avoid laundry fees completely.

My cousin swears by washing his jeans in the shower. He'll wear them in, lather up with body wash, and stomp around for a few minutes. He says it saves him a fortune on denim upkeep, but I can't imagine putting on wet jeans after.

That sounds like a whole new level of commitment to saving money. The thought of pulling on cold, wet denim after a shower is just... no way. Can't he at least hang them up to dry first?
