Warning: people are booking hostels wrong and paying double

I see travelers book a hostel bed for a week straight. That's a mistake. In Berlin, I booked 3 nights at one hostel, then 4 at another 10 minutes away. Saved 65 euros total. The second place had a cheaper weekly rate that started on a Tuesday. You have to check the calendar for each night, not just pick one spot. Has anyone else found big savings by splitting a stay between two places?

Wish I'd known this trick before my last trip.

Totally feel that. I messed up my last vacation by not packing a power strip and we had a huge fight over the one hotel outlet. Now I just throw a cheap one in my bag every time.

Wait, you mean I don't have to book the same bed for a whole week? I always thought switching hostels was more hassle than it was worth. But saving that much money just by moving down the street is a game changer. I guess a few extra minutes of packing is worth it for an extra 65 euros in my pocket.
