People keep calling an emergency fund a "budget win" and it drives me nuts
An emergency fund is just the baseline, not a win. I saw a guy on here bragging about having $500 saved up after a year. That's not a win, that's barely covering a single tire blowout. How do you define a real win without comparing it to your actual monthly expenses first?

Honestly, people get way too worked up over this stuff. "Drives me nuts" over someone else's definition of a win? That seems like a lot of energy for something that doesn't affect you. $500 after a year might be pathetic to you but for that guy it could be the first time he's saved anything ever. It's not that serious.
