Heard someone say dot grids are just graph paper with extra steps

Remember those little dot grid notebooks everyone had in middle school? I had one and tried to use it for math homework. The dots made my numbers all crooked because I kept trying to line them up with the dots instead of just writing. Ended up going back to regular lined paper after like two days.
