It clicked for me when I started putting down big, non-work stuff. Writing "cousin's wedding in October" or "save for new tires by November" makes the future feel less like a scary blank page. It's not about daily tasks, it's a map for your life so you don't get blindsided. That quick glance back stops me from overbooking a month because I can see what's already coming. The setup feels like a chore, but it saves way more time later when you're trying to remember dates.
