I used to think fancy pens were a waste of money for bullet journaling
For the first year, I used a basic ballpoint pen I got from a bank. I figured a notebook was a notebook, and the tool didn't matter. Then, my sister gave me a set of those Pilot Fineliners for my birthday. I tried one just to be nice, and it was a total game changer. The ink didn't bleed through my Leuchtturm pages at all, and my handwriting instantly looked cleaner because the line was so sharp. It sounds silly, but that smooth feel made me actually want to sit down and plan my week. Now I get why people talk about their pens so much. Has a simple switch in your pen ever made that big a difference for you?

Totally get that. For me, the right pen makes the whole ritual way more enjoyable.

Game changer" is a stretch. I used a nice pen for a bit and then went right back to my free bank pen. It writes, that's all I need.

Got a friend who swore by cheap pens for years, then her boyfriend bought her a set of those fancy felt-tip pens for her birthday. She tried one out of politeness and ended up using it for everything, even grocery lists, because the ink just flowed so nice and didn't smudge. She said it made her handwriting look so much better that people actually asked if she started taking calligraphy lessons. She's been hooked ever since, even though she still thinks the price is a bit ridiculous for something that writes. Funny how a little thing like that can sneak up on you, right?
