Just realized my habit tracker was way too complicated

I was scrolling through the bullet journal subreddit last night and saw someone say they only track 3 things a day. At first I thought no way that's enough. But I've been doing this whole 12 line tracker for like 6 months and honestly I barely fill half of it. Last week I skipped every single box for 4 days straight and felt awful about it. So I redid my whole spread this morning with just water intake, steps, and reading time. Already filled in 2 out of 3 today and it felt good. Has anyone else found that simpler trackers actually stick better for you?

Oh man, I heard a podcast the other day where the host said something like "if your system takes more energy than the habit itself, you'll burn out." That really hit home for me with all those complicated spreadsheets I used to make. Sometimes less really is more when it comes to sticking with stuff.

Totally agree, that's exactly what happened with my meal planning spreadsheets.

Patricia, I spent three hours color-coding a meal planning spreadsheet once, then ordered takeout because I was too tired to cook.
