Walked into an old stationery shop in Portland last weekend and found a dusty box of dot grid notebooks from 2015

The paper was still good but the binding felt different, made me realize how much my journaling style has shifted from thick ink washes to simple ballpoint spreads. Anyone else find their pen choices have totally changed over the years?

Huh, I mean it's just a notebook right? I've been using the same Pilot G2 pens for like a decade now and my journaling hasn't really changed much at all. Feels like you're overthinking this whole thing, paper is paper and ink is ink at the end of the day.

Hey, I heard somewhere that the type of paper actually affects how long your writing lasts, something about acidity. Maybe you're right that it doesn't matter for daily use, but archivally it could be a big deal if you're keeping stuff for decades. Have you ever had old notebooks turn yellow or get brittle on you?
