That one week where the walk-in cooler died

Our main fridge unit went out on a Tuesday in July, and we lost about $1500 worth of prime cuts before we could get a repair guy in from Springfield. Had to scramble to borrow space from the grocery down the street. Anyone ever have a backup plan for when your equipment just quits on you?

That's a brutal hit to take, especially with prime cuts. Losing that much stock in the summer heat is a nightmare scenario. We had a similar scare with our ice cream case last year, and the panic is real. Having a friendly business nearby to help out is a lifesaver, but it really shows how fragile the whole operation can be.

Man, that kind of panic just sticks with you, doesn't it?

Our walk-in fan died on a Friday in July... lost about 300 bucks in chicken and ground beef. The smell alone was a total crime scene.
