Big oops on a custom spice rack in Denver last month

I was routing the slots for the dowel rods and my template slipped about a quarter inch. Thought I ruined this nice walnut piece for sure. Ended up filling the wrong slot with epoxy and sanding it down, then just shifted the whole design over. Customer actually liked the new layout better so I dodged a bullet. Anyone else ever recover from a dumb mistake by accident?

Buddy of mine did something similar with a butcher block cutting board and epoxy.

Did he do anything special to keep the wood from cracking or shifting after the pour? I always worry about moisture getting trapped with that kind of setup.

Messed up a pour on my own once and it looked like a crime scene. At least if it cracks it'll have character, right?
