Went back to a track saw after 10 years of circular saw and guide rail hate
I always swore by a straightedge and a circular saw for sheet goods, thought track saws were overpriced gimmicks. Then I had to break down 30 sheets of 3/4 ply for a library job in Dayton and the circular saw kept wandering on the long cuts. Borrowed a Festool from a buddy for one day, the splinter guard made the difference. Now I'm looking at the Makita cordless version for around $500, anyone run that model for daily cabinet work?

Funny how one bad day with a straightedge flips you. I did the same thing two years ago, swore off guides after a 12 sheet job where the clamp kept hitting the saw base. Ended up renting the cordless Makita for a weekend before buying, and honestly the plunge action is what sold me. You can drop it right on a pencil line without the blade touching the good side, no drift at all on 8 foot rips. Just make sure you get the rail with the rubber strip on the bottom, the bare aluminum one will scratch finished ply if you're not careful.
