Found a note about shutter oil in a 1978 repair manual

I was cleaning out my bench and found my old boss's manual for the Pentax K1000, with a handwritten note saying they used a specific 0.5mm oil drop on the shutter axle. I looked it up and that exact spec was phased out by 1985 for a dry lubricant system. How many of you still run into old cameras needing that kind of precise oiling?

Found that out the hard way on my own K1000.

Remember the time I tried to fix the light seals myself. Got black goo everywhere, even on the mirror. Ended up with fuzzy bits in every shot for a month. Sometimes you just have to leave it to the people with the right tools and cleaner.

Honestly I just used rubbing alcohol and a ton of q-tips, took forever but it worked.
