Just dropped $400 on a proper lens spanner wrench set
It felt like a lot at the time, but it's already saved two vintage lenses from getting scratched up by my old makeshift tools. Anyone have a better source for replacement spanner tips that won't strip?

Oof, I feel that. Good tools are worth it when they save your gear. I just buy the tips straight from the manufacturer now, the cheap ones always let me down.

Ever try the heat shrink ones with the adhesive inside? I had a cheap set crack on me mid-job, so I switched to those. The seal feels way more solid and they've held up through some pretty rough pulls.

Ever try to use a flathead screwdriver and a prayer? Honestly, I ruined a perfectly good filter ring that way before I gave up and bought the right tool.
