Rant: Our shop's new speed policy is just breaking more gear

Honestly, management now wants every repair done in one day to boost profits. Tbh, I already messed up a lens calibration because I was rushing. Ngl, it's stressing me out and hurting our reputation with clients. We gotta push back on this or we'll lose all trust.

My buddy Alex had the same policy at his old camera shop in Hartford. He rushed a Nikon D850 sensor clean and scratched it trying to meet the deadline. The client was a local wedding photographer who never came back.

Used to believe fast turnaround times were the best way to keep clients happy... figured speed showed you cared. Hearing a story like that really changes your view though. It shows how one rushed job can cost you a good customer forever, which is way worse than missing a deadline. Now I get that doing it right, even if it takes longer, is what actually keeps people coming back.

My friend once cracked a watch face replacing the battery too fast.
