I finally found a lantern that does not blind everyone at the campsite
I was at Mohican State Park in Ohio over the weekend and my old lantern got knocked into the fire ring, so I ran to a small shop in Loudonville and grabbed a cheap rechargeable one for $24. It has a red light mode that I did not think much about until my buddy flipped it on while we were sitting around talking. Nobody had to squint or hold a hand over their eyes, and I could still see my cooler fine. Now I want to know if anyone here has a lantern with a low setting they actually like, since I am tired of the spotlight feel at every site.

That red light mode saving your night vision is the real win here, been there with the blinding spotlight feel.
