The old timer at the campground in Flagstaff said skip the air mattress and get a cot, and I finally tried it
Back in 2019 this guy named Walt, who had been camping for 40 years, kept telling me to ditch my air mattress for a simple cot because the air always leaks at 2am. I ignored him for years until my $90 mattress went flat on the second night last month, so I borrowed a friend's $60 cot and actually slept through till sunrise. Now I'm wondering if I should just commit to the cot life, or was Walt's advice just luck on one trip?

Used to roll my eyes at the old cot advice and stuck with my air mattress for years. Then mine died on a trip too, and a cheap cot had me sleeping better than I had in ages. Sounds like Walt knew what he was talking about.
