Update: found a 1978 Coleman lantern at a garage sale in Boise for $8 and the seller showed me why my new LED one quits in the cold
He lit both on his porch and the old white gas one kept burning while my $60 LED dimmed out in 20 degree weather, so now I want to hear from folks who still run gas lanterns in winter.

Wait, it just dimmed out completely at 20 degrees? I had no idea LED lanterns could quit in the cold like that. Now I'm wondering if mine will do the same thing next time we go camping in the fall.
