I finally stopped job hopping for salary bumps, now I look at the manager first

Used to chase the highest offer every time, took a 12% raise in Austin back in 2021 and ended up under a micromanager who burned me out in 4 months. Now I interview the boss as much as they interview me, think that's the real differentiator, but has anyone had a great manager that still couldn't save a toxic company?
