Overheard a homeowner say carpet is 'easy DIY'

Guy at the hardware store told his wife they could save $800 doing it themselves. I just laughed and walked away. How many of you have had to fix a DIY job that took twice as long?

Did they mention if the subfloor was level? Because that's where the real fun starts. I've torn out more wavy carpet than I can count.

Wait, did they even check what's under that carpet before they started slapping new flooring on top? Cause I've pulled up some real nightmare subfloors that looked fine until you got a closer look.

Actually @emma_lee22, carpet waves usually come from bad pad not the subfloor itself.
