Rant: measured a bedroom 3 times in Plano and still cut the carpet 18 inches short
Stretched it anyway, hid the seam under the bed, and the homeowner tipped me $40, so now I want to know if anyone else has a save that should have gotten them fired.

Had a buddy do almost the same thing on a stair runner, cut it two steps short and stapled the tail under the nose of the bottom tread. Customer never noticed and even bragged to her sister about how tight it looked. Sometimes the save is better than the install ever was.
