Late fee email template finally got a response in Omaha
For years I just sent reminder notices that basically said 'hey, your invoice is due.' Last month I switched to a simple template that spells out the exact amount owed, the original due date, and that a 1.5% monthly fee is already running. Got a reply from a contractor in Omaha within 2 hours, he paid the full $3,200 that same day. Has anyone else found that mentioning the fee upfront works better than being polite about it?

People respond to numbers when they see them, it's like getting handed a bill at a restaurant instead of a vague "you owe something." Being direct about the cost just cuts through all the noise and makes it feel real, not personal.

Did you catch that piece about how people process concrete numbers more easily than abstract ideas? It's basically why menu prices feel more honest than "market rate" nonsense, same thing applies here.
