Switched to 15 day net terms after a $3,200 lesson

I always used net 30 because that's what everyone else did. Then a client in Dallas ghosted me for 47 days on a $3,200 project and I was stuck covering my own bills. A friend who runs a print shop told me she switched to net 15 and her late payments dropped by half, so I tried it. First month in, three clients paid early and I got a thank you note from one saying it helped their own bookkeeping. Has anyone else seen better results with shorter terms?

A "thank you note" for net 15 terms? That feels a bit much, doesn't it? I'm just wondering if a few early payments are really worth the hassle of chasing down every single invoice a couple weeks sooner. Are you seeing a big enough difference to make the switch worth it for everyone?

Honestly gotta push back a bit on this. @lisas78 has a point - chasing payments two weeks earlier just means you're spending more time emailing clients and getting stressed out over smaller amounts. Ngl, net 30 gives everyone breathing room and you can focus on the real problem clients instead of treating every invoice like an emergency.

Wait, wait - @skyler_kelly69 you really think a client saying "thank you" for net 15 is too much? I'd frame that note and hang it on my wall if someone actually appreciated getting paid faster.
