Back when I started sweeps used wire brushes on everything
Last week I watched a new guy spend 20 minutes fighting a wire brush on a stainless steel liner and it just brought back memories. We used to wreck those things all the time before poly brushes and nylon rods became common. Anyone else notice new guys defaulting to the old steel tools when they should be using softer stuff?

Back when I started sweeps used wire brushes on everything" - yeah that's true but stainless steel wire brushes were actually the problem. Regular steel brushes can leave little particles behind that cause rust spots on stainless. Took me forever to learn that one myself. You ever seen one of those rust stains appear on a brand new liner?

oh man I dunno if it's really that deep lol like yeah I get the science behind it but I've used regular steel brushes on stainless a bunch of times and never noticed any rust spots. maybe its more of a problem in certain environments or if you let it sit too long. @shane170 probably overthinking it too, you know how he gets with his cleaning rituals. I think people hear one horror story and suddenly its the end of the world. unless you're leaving the brush particles there for weeks I doubt its gonna do much damage.

@viola_garcia56 changed my mind on that too, caught myself grabbing a steel brush out of habit last week.
