Got chased by a squirrel in an old Victorian in Boston last week
I was up on the roof about to cap a flue when this huge gray squirrel came tearing out of a gap and ran right up my leg. Has anyone else had wildlife jump out mid-job like that?

You seriously think squirrels are gonna start going after people for no reason? They usually only get aggressive if they've got rabies or something.

I read that squirrels can carry rabies but it's pretty rare, still scary though.

Nah I get why people worry though. My buddy once tried to shoo a squirrel away from his bird feeder and that thing chased him halfway across his yard. Turned out it was just protecting its stash but man I would've curled up and surrendered if I were him. Probably safe to just give them space and keep your distance especially if they're acting weird. Nobody wants to be that person who got rabies from a bushy-tailed nut thief right?
