I finally stopped sending a third follow up after my old boss said something that stuck
I was grabbing lunch with my old boss from the print shop last month and he asked why I always send three follow ups before letting a client go. I said it felt rude to just stop, and he said back in his day a guy could walk out for a smoke and never come back, and you just moved on. That got me thinking about how much time I burn now chasing people who went quiet on a $1,200 job. So now I send one check in and one last note, and if nobody answers by Friday I mark it dead and move to the next thing. Anyone else got a cutoff rule that keeps them from wasting a whole week on a ghost?
