Found out my old client was reselling my logos for triple what I charged them
So I was cleaning out old files the other week and stumbled across some work I did for a small business owner back in 2018. Out of curiosity, I checked their website and saw one of my logo designs listed as a "premium branding package" for $1,500. I only charged them $400 for that same logo back then. They never told me they were a design agency themselves, they just said they needed a logo for their startup. I found out by digging through their About page where they listed themselves as a creative studio. It stung pretty bad realizing I'd been undercutting my own work for years without knowing it. Has anyone else dealt with clients who hide what they really do?

Honestly it's wild how many people out there are just repackaging other people's work like it's their own. It's like those Instagram thrift flippers who buy stuff from Goodwill for five bucks and sell it for fifty with a filter, same thing just different industry. Ngl it makes you wonder how many times this kind of thing happens without anyone ever finding out.

Oh man, tell me about it! I saw someone on Etsy selling a "vintage curated bundle" that was literally just old t-shirts from a garage sale with a fancy tag. Makes you wonder how much of that junk we're all buying is just someone else's goodwill haul with a markup, right?
