Rant: Client insisted on a specific grass type for their yard and it's a total mess now
Had a client in the new Maple Grove development who was set on planting a full yard of Kentucky bluegrass, even though I told him our soil here is too sandy and it needs way more water... He said he 'did his research online' and paid me to do it anyway. Two months later, half the lawn is brown and patchy, and now he's emailing me every day saying it's my fault. I even have the texts where I warned him. Has anyone else had a client ignore your advice and then blame you for the result?

Wait he had the texts where you warned him and he's STILL blaming you? That's wild.

The guy had written proof in his phone. At that point he is just choosing to be mad. Some people refuse to take responsibility.

Okay but "written proof" on a phone isn't always the full story. Texts can be taken out of context or maybe you sent a warning in a really harsh way. Maybe he's mad about how you handled it, not just the fact you warned him. People have feelings even when they're wrong, you know? Sometimes the proof is there but the delivery makes everything worse.
