Hit 50 recurring contracts this month and it honestly threw me
I've been freelancing from my kitchen table in Austin for about 3 years now, mostly doing website upkeep for small shops. I never tracked my monthly recurring revenue until last week, and it hit $8,400, which is way more than I expected to land. The weird part is I didn't even chase it, just kept following up on late invoices and offering monthly maintenance bundles instead of one-off fixes. Has anyone else hit a number that made them rethink their whole pricing setup?
Fifty contracts and you just now noticed? Next you'll tell me you found $8,400 in your couch cushions and forgot you hid it there. The late invoice thing is the real punchline though, you basically got paid twice for being lazy about follow ups. I bet your kitchen table has more job security than most offices at this point. Keep ignoring your own success and you'll hit five figures by accident by summer.
