Learned to ask for the full scope up front after a client in Tucson walked over a $1,200 change
When I first started, I would just take a client's word for what they needed and start working, but now I write down every detail before the first nail goes in. I lost $1,200 on a job in Tucson last spring because I never asked about the back patio, so the client assumed it was included and I ate the cost. Has anyone else had a client try to add stuff for free because it wasn't in writing?
