A client in Phoenix tried to get me to design a whole new logo for free after the project was done
They said 'just a few tweaks' but it was basically a full redesign. Now I put a hard limit of 3 revisions in the contract and charge by the hour after that. Anyone else had to get super strict about their revision policy?

Yeah that "just a few tweaks" line is the oldest trick in the book. I got burned the same way early on. Putting a hard limit in the contract is the only thing that saved me. Now I make them sign off on the exact scope before I even start sketching, and any new ideas after that mean a new project and a new invoice.

My first freelance logo job back in 2018 taught me this the hard way. I thought being flexible and saying yes to every small change was good service. After the seventh round of "minor adjustments" on a flat fee project, I finally got it. Your method is the only way to stay sane and actually make money. Now my contract has a clear three revision limit, and it stops those conversations before they even start.

Been there. I make them approve a mood board first, that way any big change later is clearly a new job.

Notice how this same rule applies to setting boundaries with friends and family. People will keep asking for more if you never define what "enough" looks like. A clear limit just makes everything easier for everyone.
