A client's 'urgent' logo change request turned into a three month email chain

I was at a local coffee shop in Springfield yesterday and saw a business card for a bakery. It had the exact logo I designed for a client two years ago, but with one tiny, sloppy star added in the corner. That was the 'major rebrand' they said they needed to launch their new product line. They called it an emergency, demanded three concepts in two days, and then ghosted for weeks after each round of notes. The final email chain was 47 messages long over three months, and they ended up just editing the old file themselves. Has anyone else had a client make a huge fuss over a change they could have done in five minutes with a free app?

Absolutely classic. I had a restaurant client who needed a "complete visual overhaul" for their food truck. After six weeks of back and forth about fonts and "brand energy," they just put a sticker of a cartoon chili pepper next to the old name on the door. The invoice for all those revisions still hurts to look at.

Wait, they paid for six weeks of work and just used a sticker?

Maybe they just needed that sticker to feel sure about the bigger changes later.

Isn't that just how people buy a new couch too?
