Had a guy in Portland last month ask me to 'just change a few colors' on his logo after I'd already sent the final file
He then sent me 14 emails over 48 hours with new font requests before I finally invoiced him for the extra hours and he ghosted me, has anyone else dealt with the endless revision trap right before payment?

14 emails in 48 hours? That guy was treating you like a free 24/7 design vending machine, not a human. I had a client once who sent me 19 separate messages about kerning on a single line of text, I kid you not. They kept saying "just one more tweak" until I finally invoiced them for 8 extra hours of work, and they pulled the same ghost act. Its almost like some people think "final file" means "the beginning of unlimited free edits." Your invoice was basically a trap door they fell into and decided to just disappear through. Ive learned the hard way that if a client keeps asking for "small changes" after approving the final version, theyre usually planning to stiff you on the payment.

Hold up though. Maybe the guy thought he was being thorough, not demanding. If you approve something and then spot a mistake, shouldn't you say something? It's a fine line between being picky and trying to get it right.

Yeah but if you approved something and then keep finding "mistakes," that's on you for not looking closer the first time. At some point you gotta take responsibility for your own review instead of turning someone else's job into an endless cycle.
