I think planting trees in our town is the wrong move and last month proved it
Last month our city council in Dayton approved $40,000 to plant 600 saplings along the river. I showed up to the meeting and said we should fix the drainage first. Two weeks ago we got a big storm and half those new trees washed right out. A guy from the parks dept said the soil was too packed. Why do we keep throwing money at planting when the ground itself can't hold water? I guess I just don't get why this is the popular fix.
