Reusable bags in my trunk sat unused for 2 years until I counted them

I kept patting myself on the back for having 40 tote bags stuffed under the backseat, but last month at the Safeway on 12th I realized I'd grabbed 8 plastic ones that week anyway. Has anyone else figured out a trick to actually keep them in your hands when you walk in?

Man, just tie one to your car keys so you cant forget it.

Tying it to your keys works until you lose your keys, and then you've got two problems instead of one. I've done the rubber band trick on my wallet and still left it on the kitchen counter. The real move is just putting it in your shoe the night before, you can't ignore that in the morning. Keys are easy to forget too, trust me.
