Old timer at a shop in Toledo called me out for rushing

I was cranking feeds and speeds on a stainless job to hit a deadline and this guy with 40 years in walks over. He just pointed at my chips turning blue and said 'you're gonna trash that insert in 10 minutes' - sure enough, 8 minutes later it shattered. Has anyone else had a veteran save them from a stupid mistake on the floor?

Man that hurts to read. I've been there, pushing the feeds too hard and learning the hard way that some old timers just know their stuff. Glad you at least got a heads up before it got worse!

Yeah, old timers and their "don't break your stuff" advice... who knew?
