Rant: My cat knocked my French press off the counter so I brewed my morning cup in a clean sock as a joke, and it was weirdly not terrible.

I was out of filters and desperate, so I used a brand new athletic sock from a 3-pack I bought at Target last month, and my roommate walked in and said, 'Dude, are you making sock coffee?'

Okay that's actually genius. I was camping once and forgot my pour over cone, so I used a clean bandana as a filter. Tied it over my cup and poured the hot water through. It let a little silt through but honestly, it worked in a pinch. Desperate times call for desperate fabric solutions.

Right? I've done the exact same thing with a paper towel in a hotel room. It's not pretty but it gets the job done when you need coffee.
