Shoutout to the guy at Dragon Con who spent 45 minutes explaining his homemade Batman suit

This dude in Atlanta last month walked me through every single rivet and seam on that thing, and I stood there nodding for 45 minutes because he was so passionate I didn't have the heart to tell him I just wanted to grab a slice of pizza.

Oh man, that reminds me of this guy at Gen Con who cornered me for 40 minutes about his custom D20 dice bag (it was shaped like a mimic). He showed me every single stitch and explained the fabric layers like he was giving a TED Talk. I was really just trying to get to a dice auction, but he was so into it I couldn't walk away. The best part was when he pulled out a tiny flashlight to show me the glow-in-the-dark thread he used for the teeth. I still have no idea if the bag actually looked good or if I was just hypnotized by his enthusiasm at that point.

Bro come on, that's not that deep. It's just a dice bag. I feel like you're reading way too much into this guy's little hobby project. @bell.jessica, you let him hold you up for 40 minutes? You could have just said "cool man gotta roll" and bounced. I've seen like a hundred mimic bags at cons and they all look the same, honestly. The glow-in-the-dark thread thing is neat I guess but it's not like he invented a new way to roll dice or something. People get way too hyped over basic craft stuff these days.

Oh man, I actually just read about some guy online who spent like two years building a wearable R2-D2 suit with working lights and sounds. People put crazy amounts of time into this stuff. Sounds like this Batman guy was the same kind of dedicated. I get it though, when someone is that into their thing you just let them talk. I've been on the other end where I'm rambling about something I built and nobody cares, so it's cool you gave him the time.
