Dive supervisor still calls me green after 400+ dives

Had a supervisor in Port Fourchon last fall tell me I need more bottom time before I can run the lift bags solo, even though I've logged 400 plus dives across the Gulf. I get the caution, but when does experience actually count over a gut feeling? Anyone else run into an old timer who just won't budge on their pecking order?

Wait, he counted your 400 dives and still thinks you haven't got enough bottom time? That's wild, because 400 dives in the Gulf is way past the point where most guys run lifts solo. I'd bet he's less worried about your skills and more about keeping his own authority safe. Maybe ask him straight out what number would finally change his mind, and see if he even has an answer.

My 400 dives and I still get treated like I might forget which end of the hose goes in the bag... maybe he's just waiting for me to hit 1,000 and turn into a fossil like him.
