Heard a guy at the Port of Seattle say saturation diving is overrated for most jobs
He was telling a new diver that sat diving is the only real way to make money and that surface supplied work is just for beginners. I've been doing surface supplied inspections on the Columbia River for eight years and I think that's wrong. The cost and risk of a sat system for a two day job on a bridge pier just doesn't add up. What specific jobs do you think truly need sat diving versus surface air?

Ever done a deep pipeline repair?

Deep pipeline repair" sounds like my last plumbing disaster. Honestly @angelamurphy, I spent a whole weekend covered in mud trying to fix a main line. It was less of a repair and more of a full-on excavation in my backyard.

That "full-on excavation" feeling is too real. My buddy tried to fix his own sewer line last fall. He ended up with a hole the size of a car in his lawn, a pile of broken clay pipe, and a bill from a pro that made him sick. Total mess. He learned the hard way, just like @angelamurphy was probably getting at. Some jobs just need the right tools and a lot of know-how.
