Logged my 500th bottom hour on the same set of fins

Hit 500 bottom hours out in the Gulf this past job, and my old Scubapro fins are still going strong, which I honestly didn't expect. Anyone else keep gear way past its 'replace by' date just because it works?

My first regulator was a beat-up old Sherwood from the 80s that I got off a retired commercial diver. The thing had more tape than plastic on the hoses, and the mouthpiece was chewed up on both sides. I used it for maybe 300 dives before the second stage finally gave out, and honestly, that thing saved me a ton of cash. I still have it on a shelf in the garage, just because it feels wrong to toss it. Gear that works just works, even if it looks rough. I bet those fins have a few more thousand hours in them if you treat them right.
