TIL a simple stuck valve on a Seattle pier job can eat up a whole shift...
We spent 6 hours trying to free a seized 4-inch gate valve on a saltwater intake line, and the whole time I kept thinking there has to be a better way than just hitting it with bigger hammers.

Ugh, been there. We ended up soaking it in penetrating oil for an hour, then tapping the body with a small sledge. The shock from the taps finally broke the corrosion loose.

That exact feeling hits me when a simple cleaning job gets way harder than it should. Last week a basic floor drain clog took me two hours because the old pipes were just fused with gunk. It feels like the universe tests you with these small, stubborn things. What finally got your valve to break free?

Ever try heating a stuck bolt with a lighter just to feel like a caveman with a fancy tool?
