TIL the hard way: check your dive light batteries before every single dive
Last month off Key Largo I got 15 minutes into a wreck dive and my primary light died, spent the rest of the time on my backup which barely cut through the murk. Turns out the rechargeable pack had a bad cell that only showed up under load, cost me 2 hours of bottom time and a lot of squinting. Anyone else swap to a manual voltage tester or just stick to fresh AAs every trip?
